Following the State visit of President Buhari to Portugal, the Nigerian president signed several MoUs with the European country. The Memoranda of Understanding was signed on Friday for collaboration across different facets such as Political Consultations; Women and Girls Development, and others.
Based on the signed statement by Garba Shehu, Nigerian Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, the MoUs include Political Consultations; Diplomatic Training, Research and the Exchange of Information and Documentation; Cooperation in the Field of Culture; and Cooperation in the Field of Women and Girls Development, Empowerment and Gender Affairs; Youth; and Sports. The statement is titled ‘Nigeria, Portugal sign several MoUs in diverse sectors.’
The signing ceremony according, Shehu executed by the two countries’ cabinet-level officials.
A forum was arranged to finalize the MoUs signed between the two countries’ investment promotion agencies and chambers of commerce. President Buhari said that the signing of the agreements is an excellent foundation for increased bilateral trade.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Buhari and the Prime Minister of Portugal, Antonio Costa.
