We received reports from our source that millions of users of the popular social media website Twitter were denied access to the platform after the social media giant shuts down mysteriously.

With over 200 million active daily users, the microblogging platform provides instant information to different users all over the world.

As of 1 pm on Thursday, Downdetector, an online platform that supplies real-time information about websites and web services status, received a spike in reports of the shutdown of Twitter.
