A group of concerned citizens of Anambra State paid a courtesy visit to the governor of the state, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. On their visit, they donated the sum of N100m to the government to tackle insecurity in the state.
The group was led by Dr. Kennedy Okonkwo, the Chairman of Nedcomoak, a real estate company, Emeka Okonkwo, a businessman popularly known as E-Money. Other individuals in the group include Obinna Iyiegbu, also known as Obi Cubana, the chairman of Cubana Group, and Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee Limpopo a musician.
The group had a meeting with the governor on Wednesday at the Anambra state government house.
They made the donation to the Anambra State Security Trust Fund on behalf of their companies. Their action was in response to the call for support by the state government in the fight against insecurity. According to the businessmen, they visited the state in a bid to seek strategic partnership with the government in major business and industrial areas like real estate, entertainment and haulage.
The leader of the group, Kennedy Okonkwo, said to the governor,
We are happy with your fight against criminals in the state, and we will always support you.The governor appreciated their gesture and promised to justify every confidence they held in the government.
We commend your fight against insecurity in the state because it is a major hindrance to the socio-economic development of the state.
