Rising Nigerian rapper, Cheque has criticized The Headies for failing to nominate him in the Hip-Hop category once again.
The young Nigerian rapper will be the first to publicly express his dissatisfaction with the 2022 Headies nominations after being left out in the Hip-Hop category.
Cheque believes he is one of the few Nigerian rappers who write catchy songs. He was also one of the few rappers to have a smash song with a Hip-Hop album in 2020.
Despite the fact that the single “Zoom” was released outside of the 15 Headies’ calendar year, Cheque believes his debut album, Bravo, should have gotten him a nomination this year.
“Another year and the HEADIES fails to recognize my music in the Rap category, while melodic rappers like Durk and Roddy are idolized in the rap scene worldwide. That’s why Hip hop has remained stagnant here but it’s calm I will still be dropping hits even if I don’t get my flowers.”
